Memoir Photo

This photo represents a very found memoir of mine. This photo is from my Junior year of high school, during our baseball team's trip to Vero Beach, Florida. We played a tournament of 10 games against teams from all over the country. The best part of the trip wasn't the baseball, but it was definitely the comradery between me and all of my good friends on the team. This part of my life was a very emotional time for me because my dad had actually passed away on May 3rd, right when we were getting into serious practice for baseball. Then, here I was about a month later in Florida with all my friends busting my ass playing two games a day. This was such a special trip for me because I realized how tight me and my friends were. My friends didn't have to feel bad for me to show me they cared. They pushed me to keep playing, keep getting better, and just have fun again. I distinctly remember just being beat and sun burnt from baseball all day, and not being able to sleep because my friends would keep me up all night fighting and wrestling with me. I still remember talking about my good friends sister's overbite and him punching my throwing shoulder 40 consecutive times. I also remember our last night there where we ambushed our assistant coach, who used to work as a professional wrestler. I can honestly say this trip was one of the best weeks of my life. We even went an undefeated, 10-0.

SOPA IPPA (Writing Prompt #2)

Personally I don't support these two acts. I hate to think that my right to the vast amount of resources on the internet could be limited. I understand where the government is coming from with these bills in regards to copyright infringement and such. However, I just think these acts will end up doing more harm then good. I believe the internet is improving our society today drastically, as people are able to be exposed to so much more than previous generations. Anything that limits the internet is a huge step backwards for our society.

Blog Prompt #1

There are so many things that have shaped me as a person. I was born and raised in Independence, Ohio a city about 7 miles outside of downtown Cleveland. I've lived in the same house my entire life. My mom is a great lady who gave me a lot of freedom growing up, but was always caring and firm when she needed to be. My dad was a great guy and was the one who kept me in line more than my mom. He was a great guy to spend time with and you could really learn a lot whenever you gave him your attention. He passed away my junior year of high school right as baseball practice started to heat up. I also have a brother who is a little under 4 years older than me. Me and him used to spend a lot of time together when I was young but as we became more mature we began to see things differently and drift apart. He isn't a big part of my life anymore and we rarely speak. Growing up I was always involved in sports, mainly baseball. My family and me would always go to Indians games, Cavs games, and the occasional Browns game. I'd say I'm a little bit more reserved than most people as I try to avoid saying stupid stuff. I picked this up from my Dad. I'd also so i'm a little bit more independent than most people, I know how to survive without other people. After the death of my Dad i'd say I grew up really quick.
